THAT DID IT

By Enola Jones

It wasn't looking at Ronon's shoulders as they ran and seeing unmarred skin that did it.

It wasn't watching the look of sheer adoration Teyla would give Rodney when she thought nobody was looking that did it.

It wasn't the naked expression of thanks on Radek's face when he saw Rodney afterwards that did it.

It wasn't the sheer relief on Carson's face that did it.

It wasn't even seeing Rodney enjoying lemon chicken -- and watching the kitchen staff nearly in tears when they realised they'd never again be hearing a tirade on the evils of citrus -- that did it.

It was just knowing that Rodney was there -- as alive and animated and annoying and loyal and precious as ever -- that did it.

It was that that swelled John's heart with so much gratitude that he felt it would burst.
